Marshall Rhea died Friday, June 11, 2010 at the age of 84. He had been a resident of Amarillo for 63 years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Jeff Conway of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Avery Rush, officiating. Private entombment will be in Llano Mausoleum.

Mr. Rhea was born Levelland to Mildred and Crede Rhea on Jan. 20, 1926. He grew up in Levelland and graduated from Lubbock High in 1943 and attended Texas Tech, graduating in 1948.

He married Joanne Marsh on Dec. 20, 1946. They spent their 53 years together enjoying life and their children. Not only did they travel the globe, they spent many weekends together at the family ranch. They enjoyed every hunting season.

After graduating from Tech, Mr. Rhea moved to Amarillo and worked for Marsh Electrical Supply. For 60 years he managed Marsh and was President of the corporation for 35 years.

During his life, he spent countless hours volunteering for Kids, Inc. and Troop 80 Boy Scout Troop. He was an Eagle Scout.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joanne; his parents, Mildred and Crede Rhea; and a sister, Alma Faye Cearley.

Marshall married Betty Elliott Siebel on March 31, 2001; they shared nine, wonderful years together. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Rhea is survived by his son, Larry Rhea and wife Debbie of Amarillo; daughter, Janet Rhea of Denver and wife Betty Rhea. He has four grandchildren, Jacquelyn Marr and husband Brady of Amarillo; Erin Hehn and husband Jason of Denver; Melissa Rhea of Tulia and Lauren Snure of Denver. He has one great-grandchild, Kylie Hehn of Denver; a special friend of 60 years, Bessie Hopson; and caregivers Bonnie Terry and Cynthia Wallace.

The family suggests memorials to Kids, Inc., 2201 E. 27th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79103; or Troop 80 Boy Scouts, P.O. Box 2707, Amarillo, TX 79105; or Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter St., No. 404, Amarillo, TX 79106-1766.
