Commissioned a 2LT in the Field Artillery Branch upon graduation. Army Paratrooper. Overseas service in Korea (1960-61) and West Germany (1971-72). Combat duty in the Republic of Vietnam during the Vietnam War (Hq, 2 Field Force, 1967-68). General Officer's aide at Ft Bliss, TX (1961-62). Master of Science degree from Pennsylvania State Univ followed by a tour of duty as an Instructor in the Chemistry Department at his alma mater, the USMA at West Point (1964-67). Died in an automobile crash while he served as a Battery Commander, 3rd Battalion, 84th Artillery Regiment, 56th Artillery Brigade (Pershing), West Germany (USAREUR). Husband and father.
