---Mae McCollum Dennis, daughter of W. H. and Martha Gillispie McCollum, was born December 24, 1897 in Linn County and died at her home near Elmer, Missouri on July 7, 1943, aged forty-five years, six months and fourteen days.
---After the death of her parents, Mae, then nine years old, went to live in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Bailey. With these kind people she grew to womanhood.
---She was united in marriage April 26, 1928 to Samuel Dennis of Elmer and remained a cheerful and loving companion until death.
---Besides her devoted companion, she leaves to mourn her untimely death, a brother, Arthur McCollum of Detroit, Michigan, and a sister, Mrs. James Bailey of Kansas City, Missouri and a host of friends and neighbors.
