FRITZ J. HESTERMANN DIES STERLING THURSDAY
Fritz J. Hestermann, 78, died last Thursday. He was a retired farmer and is survived by sons, Norman and Walter of Sterling; daughters, Mrs. Emma Bouwens of Adams and Mrs. Ella Klaasmeyer, Paxton; stepsons, Walter Buss, Englewood, Calif., and Frank Buss, Seattle, Wash., stepdaughter, Mrs. Lucille Schmersal of Lincoln.
Other survivors include: Brothers, Herman of Beatrice, Henry, Ben and John T., of Adams, and Gade of Sterling; sisters, Mrs. Lena Laue of Tecumseh, Mrs. Rosa Boden of Nemaha, Mrs. Bertha Eilers of Sterling; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Fritz Hestermann was the son of John and Annie Hestermann. He was born near Sterling, Nebraska on August 29, 1889. He was baptized and later confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Adams and was a life-long member of the church.
On March 27, 1913 he married Lilly Hans, and to this union there were born two sons and two daughters. Lilly died April 19, 1924. In May, 1928, he married Etta Buss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta, his father, mother, one sister, one brother and two stepsons.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Adams with Rev. Arthur Wittrock officiating. Marjorie Eilers sang, "Nearer my God to Thee" and the congregation hynn was "Abide With Me." Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis Hestermann, Glen Hestermann, Paul Hestermann, Floyd Hestermann, Roy Laue, Robert Boden.
