Myrtle was an amazing softball pitcher in her younger days. She was a member of the "Card Club Cuties" for over 60 years. She retired after 30 years as a Secretary with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Myrt was a long-time member of North Presbyterian Church.
She had a wonderful life with her beloved husband, J.E. (Bud) Hayes. They were married for over 50 years and spent many years traveling throughout the United States.
Her husband, Bud, preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; 2 brothers, Clarence "Bud" Stowe and Floyd Stowe; 2 sisters, Bernice "Tootie" Davey and Dorothy Leach; and 2 nephews, Rick Leach and Tom Hannula.
Surviving are her sister, Alice Hannula of Lansing; sisters-in-law, Kay Stowe and Norma Stowe; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends, including Bernita Allen and Ina Martin from the Card Club.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, with interment immediately following.
