Frank D. Thorn, 57, of Palestine died very suddenly April 18, 1946.

He was a son of Carrie Coe Thorn and the late Hite Thorn.

Surviving are his wife, the former Eula Fought, one daughter Mrs. Lester Cottle of Palestine, a brother Harry Thorn and a sister Mrs. Winnie Gibson, both of Parkersburg. One granddaughter Ann Charlotte Cottle.

Mr. Thorn served 12 years as County Clerk of Wirt County and four years as deputy Sheriff. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Burning Springs and the Elks of Parkersburg.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. K. T. Board at the Palestine Baptist Church, Rev. J. L. West of Parkersburg assisting. Burial Masonic rites at the cemetery. The body in charge of Don Pomroy, funeral director of Elizabeth.

It is reported that 1400 people attended the funeral. Among those from Reedy attending were Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Cottle, Miss Elpha Lester, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Daniell, Miss Edith Daniell, R. R. Carpenter, A. S. Brown, D. Cain, Miss Elsie Cain, Mrs. Clyde McClung, Howard McClung, Mrs. Marjorie Wycoff, and J. W. Sheppard.
