9 Oct 1924: John A. Gingrich, of 2208 West Cumberland Street, died at 5 o'clock Wednesday evening, at his home. While he was sick only five days, suffering from a complication of diseases, his death is attributed indirectly to a fall several months ago in which he sustained severe injuries. He was a carpenter by trade and was widely known by the members of that craft. Besides his wife, Sarah, he leaves seven, children, Mrs. Morris Snavely, Lebanon; Mrs. John Mountz, of Lebanon, Mabel, at home; Adam, of Mt. Gretna; Mrs. Jay Hay, Palmyra; Mrs. Ira Stauffer, West Lebanon, Daniel, at home. The deceased was a member of a family of sixteen children, of whom there now remain but four, Rev. Aaron Gingrich, Sunnyside; Monroe Gingrich, Sand Hill; Daniel Gingrich of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Mary Snyder, Iona. The funeral will be held on Monday. [Lebanon Semi-Weekly News]

13 Oct 1924: Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon over the remains of John Gingrich, late of Twenty-second and Cumberland Streets. The obsequies were held at the house by the Rev. M. R. Landis, of Palmyra. Burial was made at Ebenezer Cemetery. The bearers were George Snavely, John H. Long, Harry Horst, Henry Spayd, M. L. Shenk and Cyrus Winter. Undertaker D. A.
