Samuel Weaver Brown was the son of Thomas Brown and Margaret Weaver. His tombstone was moved from the Old Brown Family Cemetery in 1974 by his grandsons Cleveland Glover and Thomas E. Brown, Jr. to the Brown Family plot in Blue Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Samuel married Alvira Brown, the daughter of William Brown and Sophronia Hickey.
Samuel and Alvira had five children: Crocket Dibrel, Sophia, Beulah (mentally challenged), Willie Mae, and Thomas Edward.
Samuel was jailed when he was about 16 years old for "prowling in disquise," or Ku Klux Klan activity. Outraged townspeople treatened to break him out of jail causing the sheriff to hire extra guards.
