Emmitt Russell Bamburg is the son of Melvin Lee Bamburg & Onetha Jewel Lindsey. He was born on April 15, 1931 in Coushatta, Red River Parish, Louisiana.
He went by Russell his whole life. Russell married Gloria Jean Lindsey and they had one son Ernest Bamburg.
Russell was a lineman by trade and fell off of a telephone pole at least once. His nephew recalls when this happened and said that they had to take him to the hospital in a cab. This apparently did not do too much damage as he went on to work as a lineman for a few more years before his death in 1973.
