Death of Mrs J. S. Morgan
Talitha Underwood, was born in Summer county, Tenn., Oct. 23, 1824; died June 29, 1888, aged 63 years, 8 months and 6 days. She was married to John S. Morgan March 10, 1846, by whom was born to him four children, three girls and one boy. Mr. Morgan and wife moved to their homestead in this county near Gaylord in the year 1875. Mrs. Morgan was a member of the church of Christ from her youth. Though afflicted, she was an ever faithful, true and patient christian. She leaves a husband, three daughters and one son, with many friends to mourn her loss,. The funeral services took place at the house last Saturday at 12 p.m. Elder F. P. Franklin addressed a large and sympathizing audience from the Text, “The same Spirit of Faith,” (2 Cor. 4:13) after which the remains were interred in the Gaylord cemetery. We joined the friends in extending our sympathy in the bereaved family.
