Mathew Seaver, 87, of Dunedin, Fla., passed away July 22, 2010. He had previously resided, with his family, in Abington, Mass. for 45 years. Born in Vevay, Ind., Mathew was a Navy veteran of World War II, the Korean War and was also a Pearl Harbor survivor. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of military service and later was employed as a security guard by the Pneumatic Scale for 27 years. He had much interest in sports, reading, nature and archaeology. Mathew was never without a smile and brought joy to many. Mathew was the beloved husband of the late Grace (Belcastro) Seaver and was cherished by his late brothers, John, Stafford and Robert. Mathew is survived by his sister, Wanda Pindell of Indiana; his son Mathew of Dunedin, who was Mathews gracious caregiver for five years; his loving daughter Gail OBrien of Rutland, Vt. and her companion Kerry Glen Spradlin; his ex son-in-law Michael OBrien of West Rutland, Vt. Mathew is also survived by the joys of his life, his grandsons, Gavin OBrien of Hollowell, Maine and Sean OBrien of Boston, Mass. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home South Weymouth, at 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 Opp. South Shore Hospital), Wednesday, at a time to announced, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Bridgets Church, Abington, at a time to announced. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery, Abington.
