Captain Peter Parker was the son of William W. Parker and Emma Quave.

Peter's grandfather was James Madison Parker, who was born in Baltimore, Maryland (1801) and came to Mississippi as a sailor, where he met and married Rose Cecilia Fayard (Daughter of Alexis Fayard and Martha R yan).

Rose Cecilia Fayard (Parker) and James Madison Parker had settled in Woolmarket at the old plantation acreage of her father Alexis Fayard, and Peter's father William W. was born in Woolmaarket.

When Peter's father William W. Parker (1847) was a lad of about 15 years of age, his father James Madison Parker, took him to one of the Islands on his schooner to hide him, because the Civil War was ongoing and the Yankee's came in and took over Oaklawn and the family was forced to cook and feed the union soldiers.

The following is from family notes:
Peter's father 'William W. Parker' was the son that James Madison Parker hid out on the Island in the Gulf off of Biloxi, Mississippi during the Civil War.

In an article written by a family member she stated that the Yankees were looking for boys for the army and his father took him in his schooner to hide him. He was about 14 to 15 years of age at the time of the Civil War 1861~1865
