Alice A. Givens, 82, of 602 E. Chestnut St., Bloomington, IL died at 6:30 a.m. yesterday (Nov. 12, 1990) at her residence.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, her son, Gary Givens, officiating. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Givens was born Jan. 21, 1908, in Atlanta, IL a daughter of Joe and Byrdie Mountjoy Ash. She married Bard B. Givens of Bloomington. He died March 15, 1962.

She is survived by one son, Gary Givens, Harrah, OK; two daughters, Vicki Hopper, 602 E. Chestnut St., Bloomington, and Jody Hopt, Cooksville; one twin sister, Ruth Miller, Fort Walton Beach, FL; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one grandson.

Mrs. Givens graduated from Atlanta High School and MacMurray College in Jacksonville. She taught at the Hoblit School, rural Atlanta. She later worked for State Farm Insurance Cos. and was a bookkeeper for Ideal Dispenser, Funk Seeds and Baumgart Building Center. She retired in 1971.

Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes or the Baby Fold of Normal.
