Dorothy Jean (Stockdill) Farster, 65, of West Middlesex, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at her residence. She was born Dec. 31, 1944, in Widnoon, Pa., Armstrong County, a daughter of the late Clinton Clair and Clara B. (Anthony) Stockdill. She was a 1962 graduate of Red Bank Valley High School. Dorothy was employed at West Middlesex Post Office, then West Middlesex School Cafeteria, then Roto Rooter of Western Pennsylvania and retired from Mancuso Pest Control, later known as Ehrlich Pest Control. She was a member of the former Shenango Valley Church of God, where she was organist for more than 40 years, taught Bible school and was church treasurer. She and her husband currently attended the West Middlesex United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Harold E. Farster, whom she married May 28, 1966; a son, Curtis E. Farster, of West Middlesex; and two sisters, Lois E. Smith, of Sligo, Pa., and Doris G. Allen and her husband, Robert, of Erie. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Sung Shik Chung, pastor of the West Middlesex United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment in Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
