Malvin Rosentrater, 91, died Aug. 8, 2009, at the Sutherland Care Center.

He was born on Nov. 13, 1917, north of Elsie. He was the youngest of four children born to Otto and Minnie Sukraw Rosentrater. He grew up on the farm and attended rural school through the eighth grade.

Malvin was married to Clarice Stevenson on Oct. 28, 1943, at North Platte. They lived their married life on the their farm northeast of Elsie. Clarice died in 2007 and Malvin moved to the care center in 2008.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, a son, Dan, and grandson, Troy Rosentrater.

He is survived by one daughter, Margie (Jim) Holm of Sutherland; three sons, Don (Diane) of Ritzville, Wash., Gerald (Deb) of rural Elsie, and Rick (Leana); nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Paxton Trinity Lutheran Church with pastor Elwood Hipple officiating. Burial will be in the Paxton Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Bullock-Long Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
