Mr. Carpenter was brought in the ambulance to the local hospital where it was found that he had sustained a fracture at the base of the skull. His condition is reported as showing considerable improvement. The accident occurred when the car which was being driven by Carpenter on a straight stretch of road near the farm of Jesse Riesdorph left the road and overturned. Both men were thrown from the car. Bowmaker was found in the ditch and Carpenter in the highway. Coroner H. V. Frink of Richfield Springs was called and found that the victim of the sad fatality had died of ac[c]ident having suffered a ruptured aorta, crushed chest and several broken ribs. Bowmaker had been a farmer at Sharon Springs. He is survived by five brothers, Russell, Arthur, Harry, George and Ira, all of Sharon Springs, and by one sister, Mrs. Edith Baker, Sharon Springs.
