Probably a son of Asa Harmon

Harmon, Allen M., Northville. Enlisted in company D, Fifth Michigan Cavalry, as First Sergeant, Aug. 14, 1862, at Northville, for 3 years, age 19. Mustered Aug. 27, 1862. Promoted First Sergeant. Discharged to accept promotion Dec., 1862. Reported as Second Lieutenant, company B, Jan., 1863. Accidentally killed near Fairfax Court House, Va., April 20, 1863.

May have had a brother, Asa Harmon in 3rd Mich. Cav. Co's F & S.
