OBITUARY-

Susan Elizabeth Gish was born in Ronoke county, Virginia, May 29, 1848 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frances Shepherd at Table Rock, Nebr., June 20, 1920 at the age of 72 years and 23 days.

When a child of seven years her parents moved to Iowa where she spent her childhood days and grew to young womanhood.

When she was eighteen years old she moved with her parents to Gentry County, Mo. and there she was united with the Long branch Baptist church and has since remained a faithful member of that denomination.

She was united in holy wedlock with Peter J. Harris and to their union was born nine children, two, Sarah and Noah dying in infancy. Seven remain to mourn the loss of their mother's love and care.

In 1901 she moved with her husband and remaining children not married from Darlington, Mo., to Table Rock, Nebr., where she has since lived. Her husband preceded her to the World Beyond, five and a half years ago.

She leaves to mourn her death, three daughters and four sons as follows: Mrs. Frances Shepherd, of Table Rock; Mrs. Nora Stevick and Mrs. Jane Carter both of Lucas, So.Dak.; and John, Vess, Erve and earl Harris all of Table Rock. There are 32? grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother as follows: Mrs. Matilda Harris of Pawnee City, Mrs. Sarah Pierce of Burchard, and Mrs. Nancy Waltrip of Arahaph, Okla.

Besides numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends who will miss the smiling face and kind words of one who led a christian and upright life.

There is no death
The stars go down to rise upon a fairer shore
And bright in heaven's golden crown
They shine forever more.

Funeral services were held in the M. E. Church at 2:30 o'clock on Tuesday, June 22, conducted by the pastor, R. B. E. Hill and the remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the Table Rock cemetery.

To the sorrowing relatives the Argus expresses the sympathy of the community in the loss of a kind and loving mother and grandmother and a loyal and devoted friend.
