William J. Brewer
William J. Brewer, aged more than 70 years, a lifelong and highly esteemed resident of Washington township, died with a complication of diseases at his home near Creekside on Thursday. The deceased was a son of James and Mrs. Sara [sic] (Varner) Brewer, who located near Creekside in 1850. He was born on April 17, 1859, and at the time of his death resided within two miles of the homestead farm. Mr. Brewer devoted his active years to farming and when a young man was united in marriage to Miss Emma Roof, of Washington township, who survives him with the following children: Mrs. Pearl [sic] Glover, of Indiana; Mrs. J. L. Uncapher, of Slickville; Mrs. J. O. Coble, of Midland; Edward and Oran Brewer, of Creekside. One brother A. L. Brewer, of Graceton, is the only surviving member of the family of eight children of Mr. and Mrs. James Brewer. The deceased was a member of the Five Points Lutheran church, where funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon by Rev. Held, of Homer City, and burial was made in the Five Points cemetery.
