Thomas Warren Hill, Jr. returned home to his Heavenly Father early Monday, July 26, 2010 after a valiant two year battle with cancer.
Tom was born February 10, 1945 in Columbia, South Carolina, the oldest son of Thomas Warren and Mary McProud Hill.
His life was filled with serving others. He was passionate about his country, serving in the United States Air Force, the Utah Air National Guard and retiring as a police officer for the City of West Jordan. Sunny summer days would find Tom fly fishing or riding his Harleys. But his true passion was his love of friends and family.
Tom married Eve Johnson; divorced. Married Pat Hill, divorced. He married his soul mate, best friend and sweetheart, Nancy, December 27, 1997.
Tom is preceded in death by an infant son and an adult son, Joel; as well as his parents.
Surviving are sons: Thomas Ryan Hill, CA; Brett Smith, West Jordan; sister, Carolee (Mike) Anderson, Boise, ID; brothers: Richard Hill, Eagle Mountain; and Gary (Debbie) Hill, Aurora, CO.
Tom's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Intermountain Healthcare Supply Chain Organization for allowing Nancy to spend this past month with Tom and offers their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who have treated Tom with kindness and dignity.
Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home and Friday, July 30, 2010, 10-11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service, 12:00 noon at Fort Douglas Cemetery, adjacent to U of U Campus.
