Fatally Scalded
The family of Mr. John Vaughn, living northeast of town, were thrown into mourning last Saturday by the loss of their little child one year old, by accidental scalding. Mrs. Vaughn was preparing to do some washing on Friday morning and had set the tub of hot water on a bee gum near the well. Finding it too hot she turned away a moment to procure cold water when the little child pulled the tub over and received the scalding water on its left shoulder and side. Drs. Boscow and Goben were sent for immediately, but the injury was too severe for their skill. The child died on Saturday morning.
