Charles Boyd Gowen, age 79, of Tullahoma, TN passed away Tuesday at the LifeCare Center of Tullahoma.
He was a native of Fort Stockton, Texas and the son of the late Fred and Lena Hice Gowen.
He was also preceded in death by his wife; Shirley Gowen and a brother, Bill Gowen. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Victory Baptist Church in Tullahoma.
He was a Marine Corps and Navy veteran having served in the Korean War.
He is survived by, one daughter; Michelle (Ricky) Massingille of Tullahoma, four sons; Fred (Shelia) Gowen, Steven Boyd (Michelle) Gowen, Bradley Scott (Janet) Gowen, and Charles Brian Gowen, all of Tullahoma, grandchildren; Kanawful Massingille, Jordan Massingille, Shelby Massingille, Crystal Fults, Missy Gowen, and Charlie Gown, Ashley Gowen, Dakota Gowen, Mandy Haley, Bradley Garrett Gowen, and Elijah Wayne Gowen, and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Tullahoma Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday July 29, 2010 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Tullahoma Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Hice and Bro. Jack Lambert officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Concord Cemetery.
