Frances (Novotny) Jensen, 89, Syracuse, formerly of Omaha, died at Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse on Wednesday, May 4, 2005. Mrs. Jensen was born October 20, 1915, in Omaha to Dominic and Frances (Zellinger) Novotny. Attended South High, on November 4, 1933 she married Robert M. Jensen in Sarpy Co.
A homemaker and farming with husband near Gretna and surrounding area. Retired from farming at Yutan NE; she also worked at Brandies Department store in housewares till age 71. A member of Fellowship Baptist Church, saved and baptized summer of 1971. Other organizations: she was member of Sokol Lodge and Sokol Singing Group
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann and Husband Harvey G. Schulz, Murdock NE; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren many Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by Parents, Husband Robert Jensen, three daughters, Adele Benke, Gloria Kotrba and 5 day old Joann; two sons Robert A. Jensen, an infant son; five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Elmwood Christian Church with Pastor, Fred Anderson officiating. Pallbearers will be John Kotrba, Fred Citta, Gary Petersen, Dave Sokup, Robert A. Jensen Jr., and John Schulz. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. with Family 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hammons Family Funeral Chapel Elmwood. Interment at Wabash Cemetery near Murdock.
