She married Amos Patterson in 1775, who was a member of the original Boston Purchase group. He arrived in Union in 1786. He made it his permanent residence in 1791 when he cleared land for a farm, and sent for his family in Boston.
Anne responded by loading possessions and children into wagon and successfully navigated her oxen team to their new home.
For a few years, the home was a log cabin, but in 1799, Amos built a magnificent home on the banks of the Susquehanna River, Washingtonian Hall.
Anne bore 12 children, two of whom died tragically. Little Amos fell into the river and was lost. A year later, his four-year-old sister fell into a vat of tallow that had been simmering in the yard.
Other Patterson children carried on the family name and heritage of serving the community.
