Joseph married Lona married Oct. 20, 1929 in Tucumcari, Quay, New Mexico. Both were there first, and only, spouses to each other. They only had one child and, three grand children, and 4 great, grand children. During there marriage they have lived in Africa, Panama and Honduras and traveled to many other places in the world. They eventually settled in El Paso. During Joseph's retirement he wrote of travels in his autobiography. Lona was known for beautiful roses and was filmed on El Paso's News channel as the "Rose Lady" for giving out large, rose bouquets.
