His parents were Wilhelm Kramer and Maria Catharina Christ (1770 Germany - 1852). He married Margaret Elizabeth Jacoby on 1 March 1819, in Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill Co., Pennsylvania. They were the parents of 9 children. Benjamin married 2nd in 1851 to Mary Graves. He lived in Richland Township, Marion Co., Ohio in 1850 and Wayne Township, Fulton Co., Indiana in 1870. He died on 5 December 1875, in Center Township, Marshall Co., Indiana, at the age of 81, and was buried in Argos, Walnut Township, Marshall Co., Indiana.
