"The LaFayette Sun" - September 7, 1932:

(Marcoot) - Our community was deeply saddened last week when the death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Estes and bore away the gentle spirit of their twelve-year-old daughter, Jane Ella. She was such a sweet and quiet girl that every one who knew her loved her. She leaves to mourn her going a father, mother, two sisters, three brothers and a host of relatives and friends. Weep not, dear parents for she is at rest in the gentle arms of Jesus, where we hope to meet her some sweet day.

And.....

(Rock Springs) - Our community was made sad that Wednesday morning by the death of Jane Ella, the twelve-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Estes. The family has lived in our midst only a short while, but Jane Ella had won her way into every heart by her cheerful disposition. Her ready smile in some way made her different from any child we have ever known. Our hearts go out in deepest sympathy to the family. Among those out of the community who visited the home and attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Brewer Carter and Mr. Ernest Carter, of Columbus; Mrs. A. F. Caldwell and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Duck, of near Dadeville; Mr. Leonard Estes, of Alexnder City; Mr. Charley Carter and family, Mrs. Minnie Carter and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Howell and Mr. and Mrs. Talbot, of Lanett; Mr. and Mrs. Olin Estes, of Buffalo, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Orr, of LaFayette.

And.....

Card of Thanks - We desire through this method to express our thanks to our many friends and neighbors who were so nice and considerate of us during our bereavement, the death of our daughter, Jane Alta, on Wednesday, August 31st.

- J. T. Estes and Family.
