Lena Bert Warner, age 84, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. Lena was born on September 18, 1923 in Riverside, CA to Fred & Nila Ellison. She was a school teacher for over 30 years and taught kindergarten at the Rainbow Hills Baptist Church.
Lena is preceded in death by her brother, Garland Ellison; sisters, Lucille Griffin & Grace Holt.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Robert E. Warner; children, Jackie M. Downing & husband Joe, Betty A. Warner & her daughter Stephanie Worrell, and Robert A. Warner; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 5 - 9:00 P.M. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 22, 2008 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Steve Doss officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University Park Baptist Church, 2308 Cincinnati, S.A., TX 78228.
