C.B. "Bud" Baldwin has gone to be with his Father in Heaven. He was born in Careyville, FL in 1917 and died in Pensacola, FL on February 12, 2007.

An obituary is a difficult thing to write. Words fail to let the world know of the mutual love and caring felt among family members.

Our father, C.B. Baldwin, was the greatest of all fathers- in some respects both mother and father to all three of us girls. Our mother, Lucille Coleman Baldwin, died in 1952 leaving him to rear three young daughters while serving in the U.S. Army- moving from one duty station to another- both overseas and stateside. He promised Mother, before her death, that he would always keep us together and care for us. He did just that and produced a strong family bond that will never die. He lived a life of self sacrifice, wisdom, hope, integrity, tenderness, humor, steadfastness, consistency, compassion, and service. He expected the best from his girls, showing them unconditional love and support. He was a man of many interests after his retirement from the service and his business Gulf States Realty. His hobbies included beekeeping, hunting, and reading. His favorite hobby, the love of which he has passed on to all of his girls, was gardening. Flowers, fruit trees, plant grafting, and lawn work occupied much of his time in his later years. Thank you, Dad, for the love of nature you have instilled in us.

See you again one day, Dad. We'll bring you roses.
He showed this same unconditional love to his deceased parents, John A. and Effie Taylor Baldwin of McKenzie, AL; his deceased brothers James Baldwin and George C. Baldwin. He also gave his love to his deceased sisters Jewel Baldwin, Betty Scott and Evelyn Hudson.

Daughters and sons-in-law who loved him dearly and survive him are Pat (Jeff) Baldwin/Davis of Gravette, AR; Brenda (Mike) McHatton of Pensacola, FL and Glenda (George) Harrell of Danville, CA. Siblings left to mourn him are Eunice Jordan of Pensacola; John A. Baldwin Jr., and Walton Baldwin of Mobile, and Cecil Baldwin of Everett, WA. In addition, he leaves two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church on Friday, February 16, 2007 from 2:00 PM until the service begins at 3:00 PM. Reverend Charles Avery will be officiating. Burial will follow on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 1:00 PM in Magnolia Cemetery, Greenville, AL.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 5401 Corporate Woods Drive, Pensacola, FL 32504, or to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
