Roy I. Pettigrew, 55: Warsaw Farmer

Warsaw, March 23- Roy I. Pettigrew, 55, a farmer and resident of Warsaw RD1 about 17 years, died in Wyoming County Hospital Thursday (March 22, 1956) following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Delia Gearman: two daughters, Mrs. Irving Fitzgerald of Bliss and Howard Falkner of Gainesville; two sons Gerald and Ford, both of Warsaw; six grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Sterling and Mrs. Mildred Muir, both of Titusville, Pa. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Buffalo.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday in the Weeks Funeral Home, Warsaw, Rev. Harold Burlingame, pastor of the Bliss Baptist Church. Burial will be at Union Parks Cemetery, Wethersfield Springs.(Wyoming County Times, March 29, 1956)
Roy Irving Pettigrew of Wethersfield Springs, a farmer who had lived in this vicinity for the past seventeen years died in the hospital in Warsaw on Thursday, March 22nd., following a short illness. Born in Titusville, Pa. on December 6, 1900, he was the son of James and Mary Turner Pettigrew. His wife, Delia Gearman whom he married April 24, 1923 survives him. He also leaves four children, Mrs. Irving Fitzgerald of Bliss, Gerald Pettigrew and Ford Pettigrew of Wethersfield and Mrs. Howard Falkner of Gainesville, and six grandchildren. Also surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. Roy Sterling and Mrs. Mildred Muir of Titusville, Pa. and several nieces and nephews
The funeral was held at the Weeks Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25th at 2 p.m. with the interment in Union Corners cemetery at Wethersfield Springs. The Rev. Harold G. Burlingame, pastor of the Bliss Baptist church officiated. Mr. Pettigrew was a member of the Bethel Baptist church of Buffalo.
