Married Almaria Birch March 15, 1859 in Ralls County, Missouri. Born October 14, 1921 and died June 29, 1870.

Elsey Allison served in the War of 1812 with the 85th Regiment of the Virginia Militia for three months in 1814. As a bounty for his military service he was allowed forty acres of land under the provisions of an act of Congress in 1820 for the sale of public lands. A land patent was granted to Elsey Allison by President Andrew Jackson on October 13, 1835 for forty acres in Ralls County, near Palmyra, Missouri. By 1849, Elsey Allison owned 200 acres of land in the area and in 1860 his son, Arrington Poe Allison, acquired 160 acres all adjacent to Elsey.
