Mrs. Helen Siebenlist, 85, of Ashland, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Wynwood of the Rogue Valley. She was born January 31, 1925, in St Peter, Kans., the daughter of Barbara and Joseph Pfeifer. She was raised in Ness City, Kans. and moved to La Cross, Kans., at the age of 17.
On October 3, 1942, in Great Bend, Kans., she married Alonzo Al L. Siebenlist, who preceded her in death in 1995. They lived in Venango, Neb., until 1957, when they moved to Ashland, Ore.
Mrs. Siebenlist taught at the Ashland Pre-School for eight years. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, fishing, gardening, dancing, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Venango Women's club and Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sons, Craig (Georgia) Siebenlist and Darin (Stacey) Siebenlist, both of Medford, Ore.; two daughters, Alyene (Bill) White and Barbara (George) Cota, both of Ashland, Ore.; sister, Lorinda Frank, of Bazine, Kans.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Katherine Pfeifer; and brother, Marvin Pfeifer.
The funeral for Helen Barbara Siebenlist will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, Ashland. Interment will follow at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. Arrangements have been entrusted to Litwiller Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland, www.litwillersimonsen.com.
