Catharine was the daughter of John Henry Sprinkle & Maria Magdalena ("Mary") Salser. She was baptized at Jacob's Lutheran Church, Fayette Co., PA on 19 Apr 1807.

Catharine married Christian Leckron in Fayette Co. Her sister Elizabeth married his brother Daniel.

The extended family, including Catharine's widowed & remarried mother moved from Fayette Co. to Fairfield Co., OH about 1838.

Christian & Catharine had 11 children: Reuben; Amanda M. (Shane); James M.; Catharine; Malinda (Siniff); Albert; Christian; Leroy W.; Gilbert; John C.; & Ellen L. (Johnston).

The spelling of their surname has several variations, including Le Crone, Lecrone, Leckrone, etc.
