'Johann was the son of Jacob Woolam and Maria Magedelena Boshaar. He married Mary Magdelena Weaver, daughter of Christopher Weaver and Anna Elizabeth Lintz on 31 January 1770 in Morgan County, West Virginia. A son, Jacob Andrew Woolam was born 4 December 1792.

Johann's gravesite has been hard to locate but the following is the known information and is most likely his final resting place.

The Woolam cemetery is located in Section 15 of St. Clair Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. It is .5 miles north of the intersection of state route 170 and the Old Fredericktown Road, on the east side of the road. According to one resident, who has hunted in the area most of his life, there are no cemetery stones to be found.

From the History of the Upper Ohio Valley, Brant & Fuller, 1891, v2, p52: "The first cemetery in this county was located on the farm now owned by Mr. A.R. Hickman, about a mile north of Calcutta, in St. Clair Township, and the first person buried therein was a daughter of John McLaughlin, in 1799.
