"Sophia A Windsor was born in Tiffin, Ohio August 11th 1839 and departed this life June 6th 1922 at her home in Webberville, aged 82 years, nine months and 25 days.

She was married to John M. Bearse also of Tiffin, March 8th 1860.

The Civil War broke up their first home and after the war was over they came to Michigan, March 15th 1869 to make a new home in a new land among strangers.

For about 20 years they resided on a farm in the township of Leroy, about five miles from Webberville, later moving to Meridian township, where they lived until the spring of 1900 when they moved to Williamston. In October 1906 they came to Webberville to live where she has since resided.

Her husband preceded her in the Great Beyond, September 26th 1911.

She leaves six children and four grand children to murn their loss.

The presence of her four daughters, Mrs. Fred Maser, Mrs. Ashmon Catlin, Mrs. Archie Branch and Mrs. Bert L Rosecrans comforted her during her last illness. Her two sons Charles W and J Norman reside in the west.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Fred Matthews. Interment was in the Alchin Cemetery, A. E. Branch of St. Louis Michigan and Archie Grover of Fowlerville officiating."
