John, my older brother, was an interesting character. Enjoyed the outdoors, including gardening, hiking, camping and boating. He believed his handshake was as binding as a contract, and always lived up to it. Also, had a somtimes caustic sense of humor. Always willing to contribute a practical joke, especially to his younger brother. He served in the U.S. Navy between 1959-63, and loved his time in the service to our country. He married Sandra Veer, May 15, 1964 in Port Orchard. 2 children Aaron Robert Barber and Rachel Ann (Barber) Robertson. Father was John Herbert Barber. Mother was Lorene Carolyn (Chappell) (Barber) Crutcher. Siblings, Herbert Cleveland Barber, Ellen Jewell (Barber) (Thomas) Crawford. Jimmie Norton Barber, Larry Lee Barber, Mary Elizabeth (Barber) (McClellen) Stephens, and Samuel Barber. Forget-me-nots are always in my garden--just as I promised.
