Chook" Arnold Entrekin, age 91, of Biloxi, was called to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 1, 2010. Chook was born in 1918. A lifelong resident of Biloxi, Chook graduated from Biloxi High School where he lettered in baseball, football, basketball, boxing, and track. After high school, he joined the military and served in the United States Navy during World War II. When he returned home, he married Jeanie Ladnier. After 30 years of civil service, Chook retired from Keesler as an electrician. Chook was a lifelong member of the VFW where he served as Post Commander in 1966. He was also a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge, a Mason, and a 18 year member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church. He was inducted into the City of Biloxi and Biloxi High School Sports Halls or Fame in 1985. Chook's life passions were fishing and watching ball games with his friends. His other pasttimes were bartending for parties and weddings and deck-handing on the Quicksilver until he was 80 years old. He was well known and loved by everyone in Biloxi.

He was preceeded in death by his mother and father, Charles and Florence Entrekin; two brothers, Milton and Elbert; and his loving wife Jeannie Ladnier Entrekin.

He is survived by four daughters; Donna Smith of Biloxi, Carolyn Stanley (Mike), of Atherns, AL, Charlene McMillin (Danny) of Hattiesburg, MS and Susan Giddens (Terry) of Childersburg, AL, eleven granchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Chooky never met a stranger. He touched many lives in his 91 years. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Nativity Sacred Heart Center Debt Reduction, Nativity BVM Cathedral, 870 Howard Ave., Biloxi, MS 39530. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Nativity BVM Cathedral, Biloxi where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial with military honors will follow at Southern Memorial Park, Biloxi.
