Pfc. Raymond Hoagland, 24, a native of Lincoln, was killed July 10 in France, local relatives learned Tuesday. He was the son of Charles Hoagland of Joliet and Mrs. Charles Chisholm of Peoria.

Besides his parents he is survived by his brother, Corp. Harold Hoagland, Camp Blanding, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Seivert and Mrs. Eleanor McGahey, New Lennox; Norma Jean Hoagland, Peoria; two aunts, Mrs. Steve Cox of New Lennox, Mrs. George Patterson of Lincoln.

FINAL RITES SET AT LINCOLN FOR PVT. HOAGLAND

LINCOLN ---- The body of Pvt. Raymond L. Hoagland, former Lincoln resident who was killed in action July 10, 1944, at Saintney, France, will arrive at Wright Funeral Home, Lincoln at 1:18 p.m Tuesday, according to a message from the War Graves service department.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Riker officiating. Service organizations of Lincoln will conduct military rites at the grave in Union cemetery.
He was born Aug. 15, 1920, at Lincoln, a son of Charles Hoagland, now of Joliet, and Mrs. Ella Rose Huff Chisholm, now of Peoria. Surviving in addition to his parents, are one brother, Harold J. Hoagland of Charleston, and three sisters Mrs. Eleanor H. McGahey, Mrs. Norma J. Dunbar of Peoria and Mrs. Florence M. Sievert of Joliet.
Pvt. Hoagland entered the army Jan. 20, 1942, and was attached to the 329th Infantry.
