JAMES WILLIAM FRY

James William Fry, son of James William and Elizabeth Jane Fry was born November 25th, 1867 in Knox county, Indiana and departed this life at Winterset, Iowa, February 25th, 1943 at the age of 75 years and three months. James was the youngest son of the family of five sons and three daughters.

In the year of 1868 the family moved from Indiana to a farm two miles west of Earlham.

On August 28, 1888 he was united in marriage with Mary Elizabeth Webb and they spent most of their married life in and near Earlham.

To this union were born five children who are left to mourn his departure, his wife having preceded him in death on October 9, 1933.

The children are the four sons, Roy and Rolland of Earlham; Marion of Los Angeles, California; Garry of Pasadena, California; and one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Peterson of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Snapp of Dexter, Iowa; with whom he has made his home the past five years; also eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a number of relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church with Rev. S. R. Overholser conducting the service. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
