Irma Lea Tate, 83, of Kanawha City went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, August 2, 2010, in Ocala, Florida following a short illness. She was born on October 15, 1926 to the late James and Lucy McMillion. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Kanawha City. She was a former employee of Quality Laundry, Walker Machinery and Mining Progress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Tate, daughter, Sheila Thompson, brothers, Robert McMillion, Joseph McMillion, Oley McMillion, Gordon McMillion and Leroy McMillion; sisters, Gracie Cobb, Leatha Burdette, Ora McMillion and Olive Woods. She is survived by and greatly missed by nieces and nephews, Joy Six, Bob McMillion, Collett McMillion, Theodore Cobb, James Cobb, Everette Cobb, Mary Lou Layne, Linda Slater, Mearly Blankenship, Cleon Burdette, Vera Taylor, Steve Burdette, Shirley Holley, Connie Spradling, Janet Smart, Leroy McMillion Jr., Ronnie McMillion, Dale McMillion and Donna McMillion. She will be sadly missed by her son in law David Thompson, Patty Thompson and Ron and Cindy Thompson, close friends she considered like family, as well as numerous other friends and family. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 7, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home at Sissonville with Pastor Tom Hughey officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers Irma would like donations made to the building fund of Olivet Baptist Church for their Building Fund, 6532 McCorkle Ave.SE, Charleston, WV 25304
