Lived in Young & Oliver Townships.,near Oliveburg,his entire life.
He was twice married;1st to Elizabeth J. Straitiff and after her death in about 1876,he was married in 1877 to Rebecca McCracken Smith ,who was the daughter of the late James McCracken of Grange.
Mrs.Smith survives.
He is also survived by the following named children:
~ William J. Smith,a merchant in Butler,Pa.;
~ Frederick J. Smith,an employee in a printing roll
factory in Pittsburg;
~ [Samuel]Irwin,Annie and Mary Smith,all at home.
His only surviving grandchild, Leona Smith, is a daughter
of William J.Smith.
