Clair Howard, Sr. was the son of Harry L. and Gertrude Howard. Don't recall Gertrude's maiden name.

Clair L. Howard Sr.,66 of 13408 South County Line Rd., Ottawa Lake, Mich., died today in his home. He was a supervisor in the press room of the Dura Corp. 37 years, retiring in 1968. Surviving are his wife, Hazel; daughters, Mrs. Barbara Goddyn, Mrs. Sharon Watson, Mrs. Nancy Moore, Mrs. Marilyn Mowery, and Mrs. Beverly Atherton; sons Clair Jr., and Walter and Donald Stucker, and sister, Mrs. Theo Poling. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Reeb Mortuary, Sylvania where the body will be after 7 tonight.

When he was a child he swam across Devil's Lake with his parents beside him im a boat. When Bud was a young adult he and his friend went to swim across Devil's Lake. His friend panicked and grabbed Bud in a death lock. In the panic his friend pulled Buddy under and Bud struggled to get free. He was able to get free but sadly his friend was already dead.

Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed making homemade bread. He and Hazel loved going to church together.

When Bud was young he was riding his bike down a hill with 2 watermellons. He fell off his bike and went sliding on the mellons and when he ended at the foot of the hill there was nothing left to them.

He met his wife at work and one night a group of workers went bowling. He took Hazel home and 4 months later they were married.

Cause of death. When he became ill the doctor said his body was so worn out from working so hard that he had nothing left to fight back with. Bud also had suffered a stroke.

My father-in-law is now with Jesus, Clair and I will see his dad and mom in Heaven.

Thank you Anya (soapykitties) for sponsoring my father's memorial.

We Can't Believe You're Gone
Dad, our sadness knows no end;
We can't believe you're gone;
We're grieving for you every day;
It's hard to carry on.
You were always there to support and care,
When we needed a true friend,
How we'll ever do without our dad,
We cannot comprehend.
You were our teacher and our guide,
Our dad, so good and strong;
Your example will sustain us now,
And last our whole lives long.
We're trying to communicate;
We hope that you can hear;
Expressing what we feel for you,
Helps us feel you're near.
Our memories of the times we had
Help the pain to go away.
But Dad, our lives won't be the same;
We'll miss you every day.
A part of us went with you;
You left a gap too big to fill;
You're our father and our hero;
We love you and we always will.
