Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Burroughs,
76, of Alameda, Calif., will be conducted
at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the George M.
Wittich Funeral Home.
Mrs. Burroughs, a former Muscatine resident,
died Friday at Alameda Hospital, Alameda,
Calif. She had been a resident of Alameda
for four years.
She was born in Illinois Nov. 21, 1893,
being a daughter of Eider and Alice Carr
Lee. She was married to Thomas E. Burroughs
Aug. 26, 1940 at Muscatine
Mrs. Burroughs was a member of Calvary
Tabernacle.
She is survived by two sons, Allen B.
Alexander of Tyler, Tex., and Walter
Richard Bloom of Davenport; one daughter,
Mrs. Pauline Chastian of Alameda, Calif.;
and four sisters, Mrs. Rita Cash of San
Diego, Calif., Mrs. Erma Daedlow of
Mediapolis, Mrs. Ila Berry of Morning Sun,
and Mrs. Ameda Harshberger of Franklin, Pa.
There are four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents
and husband.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday,
starting at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Monday.
