Mary Ann (Polly) was the daughter of
James & Hannah Mayberry Scott.

She married Henry Schell, Jr.about the close of the Civil War or soon after his release from the Confederate Army.

Mother of Hannah Elizabeth, Malinda Caroline,, Mahala Anna, James H, Mary Mervia, Frances D.

She and Henry built and owned the village of Mountain, Missouri. Mountain was a busy trading point between the Civil War and second decade of this century.A dam across Big Sugar Creek furnished the power for the mill that ground the grain with stone burrs.

They owned the General Store,Post Office,Blacksmith Shop and the sawmill, they owned 400 acres of land.
