Son of James & Maggie Anderson of Lidcombe, NSW. Charles enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 13 June 1915 and embarked from Sydney for active service abroad on 9 August 1915 per HMAT "Runic" (A54). He was killed in action at Pozieres, aged 25 years.
