Doris M. Hammer, 86
CAMDEN - Doris M. Hammer, 86 of Wabash, formerly of Camden, died at 1:50 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2001, in Wabash County Hospital. She suffered complications of hip surgery following an accidental fall at her residence at the Community Care Center in Wabash.

She had worked at Montgomery Wards in Logansport and Farmers and Merchants State Bank for 20 years.

Born Aug. 20, 1915, in Camden, she graduated from Camden High School in 1933. She married Robert Hammer on April 27, 1940, in Logansport. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for many years before his death on Dec. 27, 1985.

Mrs. Hammer was a member of Logansport Faith United Methodist Church and was active in the church's Good Shepherd Program.

Surviving are two sons, James Hammer of Cherokee, Iowa, and William Hammer of Severna Park, Md.; a brother, Roger Wagoner of Sullivan; and a sister, Martha Sanderson of Flora.

Friends may call from 12 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Sunday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, Pastor Pamela Ditson-McCall officiating. Internment Camden Cemetery. Four great-grandchildren survive. Two brothers and a sister preceded in death.
