Arthur was serving in the 359th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division that went in to the line 11 JUN 1944 near Picauville, France when he was killed in action.


Note: On D-Day, the 1st & 3rd battalions of the 359th were attached to the 4th Infantry Division which landed at Utah Beach on that historic day. At this time, the SigEp Patriots Project has been unable to determine whether SSG Edmundson was in one of those battalions.

Arthur is a brother of the Colorado Gamma chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at Colorado State University, and a member of the Class of 1942.


In MAR 1942, a month after his 22nd birthday, Arthur enlisted in the U.S. Army at Ft Bliss, TX.


His awards include the Purple Heart.


Arthur is remembered and honored on Panel 11, Column 1, Row 107 of the Colorado Freedom Memorial in Aurora, CO.
