Killed in Action Feb 3, 1917 while serving with C. Company, 6th Battalion, Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment.

In the 1891 census of Brenchley, Kent Edwin is listed as 12 years old residing with his father Albert age 37 and mothe Sarah 35 and his siblings, Edward T. 11, Harold G. 9, Ernest T. 8, Henry A. 6, Lucy T. 6, Nelson A. 2, and Ellen N. 1, all born in Kent. His father Albert was a bricklayer by trade. Edwin was Christend on March 30, 1879 in All Saints Church, Brenchley.

In 1904 Edwin married Caroline Elizabeth Fever at Tumbridge Wells.

In the 1911 census Edwin is listed as a 32 year old bricklayer residing in Brenchley, Kent, with his wife Catherine Elizabeth age 31 also born in Brenchley and their children Eric Alexander 2 and Hubert Douglas 1 both born in Brenchley.

Note: marriage records give his wife's name as Caroline Elizabeth Fever but the 1911 census says Catherine Elizabeth.
