Berniece A Davidson, 97, Decatur, a native of Berne, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 29, 1920 to Christian and Martha Ebnit Zurcher . She married Richard Davidson on August 31, 1947.
Berniece was a resident at Woodcrest of Decatur and a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene, Berne. She was a homemaker and also self employed making and selling hundreds of pillows. Berniece previously worked for the Berne Dime Store. Interests included; gardening, baking, caring for flowers, and arranging natural living & artificial arrangements. She exhibited a good sense of humor and especially loved her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include; daughters, Gloria(Gary)Reed of Berne, Rhonda(Mark)Eifler of Newburg, IN, son, Darwin Davidson of Decatur, Sisters, Deloris Hirschy of Monroe, Evelyn Yohe of Demoyne, PA., brothers, Merlin(Leah)Zurcher of Berne, Marvin(Evelyn)Zurcher of Rockford, OH, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are her parents, husband, daughter, Cheryl Franklin, brother, Raymond Zurcher, sisters, Irene Sullivan, and Iva Williams.
Funeral services Thursday, August 24 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Nazarene with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation also Wednesday from 3 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne. Officiating are Dr. Wayne Steury and Pastor Paul Tubbs with burial at the MRE Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Church of the Nazarene.
