Harriet A. Feichtenbiner, 80, of Ithaca, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 1996 at the Westgate Healthcare Center in St. Louis.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca with the Rev. David McBride officiating. Burial will be in Emerson Cemetery.

Harriet was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Mahomet, Champagne County, III. to Harrison Ater and Ethel May (Cornwell) Pittman. She married Francis C. Feichtenbiner on March 11, 1950 in Ithaca.

Harriet taught in the rural Ithaca Schools from 1936-1950 and substitute taught until 1968. She taught in the Linley School, Wheeler School, Allen School, and the Old Ithaca School. She was active in the Emerson Recreation Club and served as a girl scout leader for several years. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, vegetable and flower gardening, and cooking

She is survived by her husband, Francis; one daughter, Cheryl (Andrew) Rice of Midland; two granddaughters, Christina and Jenna Rice of Midland; one brother, Ronald (Charlotte) Pittman of St. Johns; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
